Special Events There are always fun and interesting things going on in Jim Thorpe. The art scene is blossoming, seasonal festivals keep the weekends 'happening,' and our special events add a hometown flair not found anywhere else. Since Mary's Guesthouse is right downtown, almost all of these things are within walking distance - come enjoy all we have to offer!

Monthly · Second Saturdays Art Walks with the Jim Thorpe Artists - visit over a dozen studios and galleries, talk to artists, enjoy the talents of our town · JTAMS Concerts at the Opera House - Jim Thorpe Artists Music Series (JTAMS) presents and exciting mix of artistry. From jazz to classical to folk, JTAMS shows offer an intimate venue for original music and a unique mix of visual art, music and social atmosphere.

Chamber of Commerce sponsors festivals that celebrate special events or seasons

· February - WinterFest (President's Day Weekend) · May - Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration (3rd weekend) · October - Fall Foliage Festival (2nd weekend) · December - Old Time Christmas (1st & 2nd weekends)

Holiday Celebrations - like only a small town can do them!

· St. Patty's Day: downtown shuts down and is flooded in green for a whole day - the parade is an excuse for thousands of people to party!
· Fourth of July: we call it a stay-at-home-celebration, and there's a party in Memorial Park as well as a nice fireworks display (may not actually be on the 4th)
